After many delays, partly due to the engineer disputing the terms of the contract, the building was finally opened with much celebration. Archdeacon David from Rubiriizi, a member of the Board, said a prayer of dedication after our Chaplain, Rev. Patrick had led a song of praise. Alan and Helen Smith of Kisiizi Partners, the donors of the building, cut the ribbon and unveiled a plaque to much applause.
We then shared a cake inscribed with the hospital motto “Life in all its fullness” and staff were able to go into the building to inspect the accommodation.
