Standing with Kisiizi Hospital at a Critical Time

Spread the love

For decades, Kisiizi Hospital has been a place of hope, compassion, and excellence in rural southwestern Uganda. Founded through remarkable community initiative and faith, the hospital has grown into a vital referral centre serving thousands of patients each year, while also playing a key role in training the next generation of health professionals.

Today, the hospital is facing a significant challenge;  Over the past two years, the Internal Medicine department has been running with just one full-time physician and one part-time physician. In January and February 2026 respectively, both doctors left unexpectedly, leaving the department without physician cover. This has had a serious impact on essential services, including specialist clinics, cardiac echocardiography, and the hospital’s internship training programme.

This situation places added strain on an already stretched health system and directly affects patients who rely on Kisiizi for ongoing and specialist care.

We are asking friends, colleagues, and supporters to stand with Kisiizi Hospital at this crucial moment:

  • Pray for wisdom, provision, and a timely solution

  • Share this message with clinicians who may be interested in serving

Kisiizi’s mission has always been about life in all its fullness, even in the face of challenge. With your support, the hospital can continue to serve its community with dignity, skill, and hope.
