Medical Departments
Medical Ward
General Medical unit with around 40 beds with male & female divisions. Treats patients with a wide variety of conditions but mainly malaria, pneumonias, & cardiac problems.
Infectious Diseases
Single side rooms and smaller two bedded areas treating patients with TB and HIV related illnesses
Rehabilitation
Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy available with gym and hostel. Community outreach.
Mental Health
One of the few functioning units providing Mental Health services for a wide geographical area.
Outpatients
Sees around 40,000 patients annually. Receiving unit for accidents and emergencies
Children’s
New unit comprising 40 beds as well as a Nutrition unit. Medical and Surgical cases on the same unit.
Maternity
New unit with it’s own Theatre. 3 delivery beds and a small number of single rooms
Surgical
Similar setup to Medical Ward, dealing with a wide range of surgical problems. Special interests in VVF surgery
Operating Theatre
Two main theatres with a minor theatre. Around 2200 cases undertaken annually. Head to Toe surgery, Endoscopy service. Four anaesthetic officers providing 24hour cover.
Pharmacy & IV Production Unit. Instrument Sterilising Services.
Well stocked Pharmacy dispensing drugs to Outpatients and Inpatients. In-house IV production unit.
VCT and ART Clinic
Recently established, yet busy clinic
X-ray
Separate building housing a standard x-ray unit. Small number of contrast studies performed. Ultrasound service available in Maternity
Laboratory
Busy unit providing microscopy, haematology and some biochemical analyses.
Vaccination & Community Health
Busy outreach programme to a number of different areas.

Procurement
Orders Drugs and Medical Sundries from Central Suppliers in Kampala. Other essential items for the running of the hospital
Garage & Workshop
Servicing vehicles plus woodwork shop. Electrical, Plumbing & General manitenance
Chaplaincy
Provides spiritual solace and support for patients, guidance and direction for staff, and a focal point for periodic witness to the area around

Finance
Much more than a cashiers office, the Finance Department seeks to liaise with donors, account for a large number of small projects as well as the Hospital, Primary School and School of Nursing finances, and provide key financial information for senior management.
