Mothers’ Waiting Home

This project is designed to reduce the risk of serious problems for mothers and their babies. Those with significant risk factors such as a low-lying placenta, multiple previous Caesarian sections etc come to stay in the Mothers’ Waiting Home at minimal cost. This means that as soon as they go into labour or develop any problems they can move directly to the Maternity Ward. Sadly there have been cases of women with such problems going into labour in their villages in the night and then not being able to get to Kisiizi and some have arrived in very poor condition medically.

So we are very grateful to our friends in Kisiizi Partners for their generous support in putting up the new building. It is close to Maternity and adjacent to the Imaging block and to Rehabilitation dormitory.
